US forces kill al-Qaeda chief in Abbotabad

Pakistan has confirmed the death of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Abbotabad in northwestern Khyber.Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
A statement from the Foreign Office on Monday said the most wanted terrorist mastermind was killed in an operation. “It was conducted by the US forces in accordance with declared US policy that Osama bin Ladin will be eliminated in a direct action by the US forces, wherever found in the world,” it added.
The Foreign Office termed it “a major setback to terrorist organizations around the world.”
The announcement of bin Laden’s death comes almost ten years after the September 11 attacks on the United States. A series of coordinated attacks were carried out in the United States, leaving almost 3,000 people dead on September 11, 2001.
The statement said President Obama telephoned President Zardari on the successful US operation which resulted in killing of Osama bin Ladin.
The United States did not notify the Pakistani government about the US operation that killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, says a US official.
US President Barack Obama announced late on Sunday that bin Laden was killed by US forces after he was found hiding in a compound in Pakistan.
US had not shared this intelligence on the compound with no other country, including Pakistan.
The reason for not sharing intelligence with Islamabad was “the need to maintain complete secrecy” about the operation, US officials told reporters.
However, during his Sunday televised speech, the US president credited Islamabad’s cooperation in tracking bin Laden.
“It is important to note that our counter-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan helped lead us to bin Laden and the compound where he was hiding,” Obama said.
During the Sunday US operation that killed bin Laden, three other men, including a son of the al-Qaeda leader and a woman were also killed.
Meanwhile, a US official says bin Laden’s body has been buried at sea, alleging that his hasty burial was in accordance with Islamic law.
According to local residents, Osama bin Ladin and other people living in the Bilal town, Street # 30 of Abbotabad. “They were not keeping relations with anybody while living in the town. He (Osama bin Ladin) came to the house, some three-four years ago,” local residents added.
According to sources, two US helicopters came to Abbotabad from Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan at 12:12AM (Pakistani time). “All Pakistani radar and signals were jammed when helicopters were entering Pakistan,” they added.
One helicopter made crash landing in Abbotabad and later, another helicopter came to Abbotabad and joined the operation.
According to Pakistan officials, Osama Bin Ladan’s satellite phone was traced when his Kuwati guard talked with people in Charsadda, Mardan, Kohat towns in Khyber.Pakhtunkhwa province, few months ago.
The building was constructed in 2004 and people from Waziristan were living in three-story building.
The house was rented by local resident of Swat valley or South Waziristan Agency, local residents added.

Thing you are talking about a lot of sense. Yet, consider this, let’s suppose you integrated a little more? I am talking about, I do not want to teach how to run your site, however if you added something which could grab people’s particular attention? Just as a video or simply a graphic or maybe few for getting people psyched concerning what you are talking about.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

I wonder if America thinks their country will fall apart if the president is shot dead. Just like it’s happening with Al-Qaeda.
