Charging your smartphones becomes a real task especially when you are in need of it most of the times and almost round the clock. You not only at times forget to charge it, but you don’t get enough out of the recharge anyway. Such a situation makes you think, if only you could carry your charger easily everywhere so that whenever the phones gets out of your hand, you can charge it simply.
The wish has come true as Lilliputian Systems has designed a portable fuel cell that can charge smartphones and other devices through a USB. The fuel cell is reportedly the size of a deck of cards and uses small fuel cartridges to charge devices. An iPhone 4 could be charged 10 to 14 times in a life-cycle of one cartridge, which are also environment-friendly and can be recycled. Thus, no more would you have carry around your charger everywhere you go.
It is easy to handle and when you travel around, putting it in your pocket without a worry about luggage is remarkable. Even the U.S. Department of Transportation has allowed it to be part of carry-on baggage when on a plane. Even a PlayStation Vita could be charged with it. The device is expected to be released at the end of this year and will be available through Brookstone’s site and locations at malls between $3 to $5 each. It is a short and inexpensive solution of energy-saving too.
