Tokyo Skytree is Now the World’s Tallest Broadcasting Tower
On Tuesday May 22, the world’s tallest broadcasting tower was opened to public for the first time. The tower called Tokyo Skytree is located in Japan. Very interestingly named, the tower stands at 634 meters and has been made according to the environmental measures keeping in mind earthquakes and typhoons that often strike past the area. The tower is opened to visitors and offers a great view of Tokyo that the whole skyline could be seen. Even on clear days, Mount Fuji could be seen from it.
Japan is known for its engineering and architectural design as many of its skyscrapers have been made with much efficiency and creativity. But all this does not take place with a blink of an eye and needs careful planning. For Tokyo Skytree it took just three and a half years in construction, but the tower was under planning for longer than that. Before Tokyo Skytree, Asia’s another city Guangzhou held the record with the Canton Tower which stood at 600 meters.
However, the Tokyo Skytree is the tallest in its category of buildings, which is the tallest broadcasting tower, but record for the tallest structure is still being kept by Burj Khalifa in Dubai. To reach the latter’s height, someone has to construct more than 828 meters high-rise building and it is not that easy. Making these high sky-reaching buildings adds to the beauty, technology and tourism for a city, but keeping in mind the environmental factors like that of natural disasters would save both lives and costs in the long run.
