Ultra-Sensitive Biosensor Detects Diseases Earlier for Treatment
Caring for one’s health from day one is of utmost importance, because even though it might not seem so at a young age that we would face health issues, taking that extra precaution is always beneficial. Often old people say that they wish they had been a little bit extra careful while they still had a chance. But health issues are part and parcel of this life. It is due to constant development in the field of medicine that longevity of human life has been achieved and mortality rate has decreased.
What we just need now is to catch up with health issues earlier and detect problems in initial stages before it gets too late or out of hand. Scientists from the Imperial College London and Spain’s University of Vigo have come up with one such ultra-sensitive test that can detect potential threats of diseases in their early stages. One of the reasons why health treatments get successful is of their timing and consistency. Detecting health issues earlier would lead to earlier treatment and hence, health can be maintained or damage could be controlled.
This new test is being called a biosensor test that detects biomarkers, which are responsible to indicate any disease. The difference is that even with low levels of these biomarkers, this new biosensor test can detect any existing health disease. The researchers intend to conduct further tests to make sure that a variety of diseases can be detected before they market their new test. Further details on this new research are available in the journal Nature Materials.
