Researchers Find a Way to Jam Drivers Phones While on the Road
Now the scientists have found a way to help government take control of such drivers who are often on the phone while on the go in their cars. Finally, something that would make drivers behave their best while on the road. Some researchers in India from Anna University of Technology have been working on developing an ability to jam phones of the drivers while they use it during their drive. The best part is, only the drivers get to lose their signals whilst the other passengers in the car would find their phones working just as normal.
According to these researchers some 20% of the fatal accidents happen around the world with trucks and other heavy vehicles while their drivers have been on the phone. Thus, keeping this safe will save wives of many others. Despite many warnings and threats of being fined, reckless drivers have continued to use mobiles at the risk of their own and others’ lives. The only way then seems to be to jam their mobile phones altogether. The researchers have devised a way to determine if a driver is using a mobile while on the road.
If this be the case, it triggers the jammer into action and the signals are blocked. The other passengers can use their phones all at the same time, because the jammers are at low-range according to these researchers. Further details on this are published in the International Journal of Enterprise Network Management. If the system really delivers satisfactory results then the government has got a good chance of keeping roads safer.
